Checklist for content creators to grow on Twitter

Maria Ruocco

Before we dive into our checklist, it is important to remember that building a brand on Twitter takes time and effort.
It is not a one-time event, but a continuous process that requires dedication and consistency.

Twitter checklist:

  • ✅ Identify your niche

Knowing your niche is crucial to creating content that resonates with your target audience. Ensure that your tweets are relevant to your niche, and that your followers can easily understand what your profile is about.

  • ✅ Develop main topics

Once you have identified your niche, develop main topics that align with it.
For instance, if your niche is legal advice for venture capital and private equity firms, your main topics could be legal considerations for venture capital and private equity investments, case studies and examples of successful (and unsuccessful) legal strategies in the industry, and interviews with industry experts on legal topics and trends.

  • ✅ Create Twitter threads

Twitter threads are a great way to provide detailed information on a particular topic. Ensure that your threads are easy to read and follow, and that they provide value to your followers.

  • ✅ Use random tweets

In addition to threads, use random tweets to keep your followers engaged. These could be tweets with image, annotations, sharing articles and blog posts on topics, or even tweeting news updates. Use Editby to make it easier.

  • ✅ Make use of video annotations

Videos are a powerful tool for engaging your audience.
Use short advice videos, Q&A sessions, and interviews with industry experts to keep your followers engaged.

  • ✅ Quote tweets

Quote tweets are a great way to share your thoughts on a particular topic or to add your own commentary to a tweet from another user.
Use them to provide your perspective on news in your sector or other topics relevant to your niche.

  • ✅ Share project progress

Providing updates on current projects, sharing templates, and giving your followers a behind-the-scenes look at your  research and strategy can help build trust and credibility with your audience.

  • ✅ Respond to DMs and replies

Engage with your followers by responding to their DMs and replies.
This shows that you value their input and are willing to engage with them.
